Pinecrest, FL is an affluent village of more than 18,000 residents in Miami-Dade County, and it is a community-minded residential area. Several public parks, an active community center and four public schools serve children, families and seniors in this village. The village council works on maintaining a clean, safe area for its residents, always taking environmental concerns into account. Water access is good since it's on Biscayne Bay.

The median sale price of a home hovers around one million dollars with some closer to six million and some condos listed for under $130,000. Suburban conveniences are readily available for daily needs and upscale shopping nearby. 

Pinecrest village also has a free People-Mover. This bus-line connects with the Metro bus serving the county and also carries middle and high school students to their respective schools if they do not live in the school's bus catchment area. 

The Pinecrest Gardens offer a petting zoo, botanical garden, swan lake and a butterfly exhibit. A playground and splash-and-play area make it even more fun for the kids. This park of 20 acres sits at the corner of Southwest 111th Street and Southwest 57th Avenue. 

It is on the National Register of Historic Places as the former site of the Parrot Jungle. There is an annual fine arts festival in the park in January and other celebrations throughout the year. The 20th anniversary of this village is in 2016, so there is no doubt about its firmly established presence. 

A weekly farmers market is also located in the parking lot of the Pinecrest Gardens on Sundays 9:00AM-2:00PM, year-round. Fresh-picked, organic produce is the main attraction, but shoppers also like the treats at the artisan bakers tent. Coffee, fresh juice and smoothies fuel visitors looking for flowers, trees and green plants as well as local honey, teas, spices, soaps and soy candles. Unique hot foods are also available. Don't miss the meats, cheeses, fruits and other "gourmet" items are there as well. 

A variety of classes are offered at the Pinecrest Community Center throughout the year including health, fitness and arts interests for all ages. Speaking of the arts, a very impressive music series is available for the season or for individual concerts called South Motors Jazz at Pinecrest Gardens. Grammy-winning names like Branford Marsalis are included in this series right here in the village. It's a beautiful place to live.
